007. IT WAS BY FAITH

When was the last time you made a decision based solely on faith? I don’t mean weighing the pros and cons and then acting. I am talking about stepping out on what the Lord has told you, while everyone else thinks you’re crazy! In chapter 11 of Hebrews, there is a list of great people of faith and every one of their stories begins with the phrase, “It was by faith...” Each one more amazing than the last! Verse 6 reads, “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” (11:6). What is the story the Lord wants to tell through your life that cannot begin till it starts with the words, “it was by faith...”

006. LOVE THE PERSON AND HATE THE ENEMY

Sometimes, I find myself in a situation where someone is saying and doing things that are just not of the kingdom. In those scenarios, I have to catch myself from seeing only the person. I want to love them and try to refrain from placing all my frustration on them, because there is often demonic influence at work. I always feel weird talking about demonic activity, as if I’m in a B-movie carrying a giant crucifix and holy water! Despite how awkward I my fell discussing it, Paul tells us “We are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world ... against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

004. DISSAPOINTMENT DOESN'T DEFINE YOUR DESTINY

Disappointment doesn’t define your destiny. It is the shaping of your character, preparing you for what you are not yet ready for, but has always been yours for the taking. My own story is fraught with what I thought was a slammed door to something I would never reach, but God is a keeper of promises and His ways are not mine, thank the Lord! However, I could have let those moments lock me down into believing the lie that I have to settle and stop dreaming big dreams with God…

002. LOVE LOUDER THAN CRITICISM

When I was a child, my parents took me to hear the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. If you have ever heard the sound of a full orchestra tuning, then you know it is a very loud and unsettling sound. It is almost like hearing an entire orchestra falling down some stairs. All those different musicians, with different instruments, all doing their own thing. It’s a total mess! Until the conductor steps on the stage, and then all eyes are on him as he walks out, taps on the podium with his baton, and slowly lifts his hands. As they drop, what was a cacophony of division and chaos, suddenly becomes a sound so beautiful, it literally takes your breathe away!

This is a picture of what I believe the Lord is seeking…

001. A NEW THING

Have you ever received a revelation from God or seen Him show up in an amazing way and decided that must be how He always wants to do it? Have ever been a part of something great that the Lord was doing and thought this is how I want things to always be! I totally have! Sometimes, we just want things to stay the same, even when they get harder and harder to maintain. I’m not about to say that all tradition and every comfort zone is a bad thing, but i will say that they should never forfeit the leading of the Spirit. When they do, they have become old wine skin (Luke 5:37-39).
